This warning is the result of a right to know law passed in California in 1986 generally referred to as “Proposition 65.” Radius Display Products strives to comply with all applicable laws, including Proposition 65. While you may find this warning alarming, those in the State of California see it on products every day. California even came close to requiring this warning on coffee.

Why is Radius Display Products providing this warning?

Radius Display Products sells over 2,000 products, including items we manufacture in-house and some sourced externally, each with its own set of parts and materials. It simply isn’t feasible to test and re-test each and every part for the over 980+ chemicals currently covered by Proposition 65 (more are added each Quarter). To ensure our compliance with the laws of the State of California specific to Proposition 65 requirements, we have decided to include these warnings on any products in which we cannot rule out that exposure to one of the 980+ covered chemicals may occur as some of the listed substances include common items such as “Aloe Vera” and “Wood Dust”). We provide these warnings out of an abundance of caution.

This warning does not mean that any of our products actually will cause any harm. Moreover, a Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is in violation of any product-safety standards or requirements. In fact, the California government has clarified that “the fact that a product bears a Proposition 65 warning does not mean by itself that the product is unsafe.” The government has also explained, “You could think of Proposition 65 more as a ‘right to know’ law than a pure product safety law.”
